Taquari Hatch, Lil Boosie's brother and manager, did not immediately return requests for comment.
Hatch first entered the prison system in 2009 when he pleaded guilty to a third-offense marijuana possession charge, earning him a total of four years when the judge determined Hatch had also violated probation.
DOC spokesperson Pam La Borde confirmed Hatch left the prison, commonly known as Angola, just after 7 p.m. Hatch was sent to a West Feliciana Sheriff's Department facility to meet his lawyer and at least one other person, La Borde said.
Hatch will remain under parole and probation for some time, La Borde said.
Boyd left behind a disposable camera, $402 in cash and a bloodstream spiked with morphine, marijuana, and codeine.
